Alfred, it would be unfair to pick out any one restaurant or taverna, as you will find that it will be difficult to be disappointed with any of them in the village. We all have our favourites of course, but I'm sure when you arrive, you will easily find some great eating and dining places. Maybe see you when you are there. What is the name of your yacht? Rory.

Hi David, thanks a lot for the info. It could be very helpful for our trip around Greece. I did not know about this site before. Hope to meet you in Galini. All the best, Alfred

Alfred. I do not know about the depth of the harbour, but this link might be useful to you. http://www.gtp.gr/TDirectoryDetails.asp?id=10154 I wish that we could join you for a glass or 2, but I am not sure when we will be able to make it back to our favourite village. All the best. David.

Hi everybody, on our trip around Crete on a sailboat, we are planning to visit Agia. Could somebody please tell me, wether the port is deep enough for a boat with a draft of 2 meters? Everybody helping us with information about the port or about a nice restaurant is invited to join us for some greek wine on board around the 24th of May 2012. Kind regards, Alfred from Mainz, Germany

Have not been to A.G. since 1973 while afloat with the US Marines. Found a quaint little fishing village acessible then only by donkey or FWD jeep. From what I can read, it has really changed toward a tourist haven. Hope it isn't too modern or tacky. Planning on returning to A.G. in May 2012. Hope to meet some of you then. Semper Fi.

Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey tonight featured the Greek islands, including Crete. Worth watching on iPlayer if you missed it. http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=284175

returned home last week after 2 lovely weeks back in Galini. Nice to see Nikos, yannis and family at the Ariadne again. Gary at Milestone, Nikos at Pantheon and Charlie. Met some nice people, but also met some not so nice german people. Hope these are not going to take over such a lovely resort. It was our 3rd visit and it was rare to hear english speaking guests.I'm really not prejudice, but after our last 2 visits, we noticed a difference. There was a nice festival down in the harbour while we were there, with lots of greek music/dancing etc.
