Patricia, this is fairly easy these days, you can now do it the entire way via the beach or like I do and use the path for the first 2.5 km and then descend to the beach, you have to do this as the path is gone. I have done this 4 times over the last six years, it is easier now than it was in the 80's when you done it Magic Bus. Have a look at Crete 2010 the first week to see the images I took making the walk last year. I don't think I can put the full address on the guest book but the site is bobojnr.com

Does anybody know of anyone operating a minibus service between Agia Galini and Heraklion airport? It is for a party of 6 people with luggage.

Hi Patricia, I have done the walk from AG To Pyrgos, but I would not recommend it. I did it 30 years ago and always remember it to be scary with some dangerous cliff edge bits. I could be wrong now as it was 30 years ago and there could now be a safer way, but I have not heard of this in more recent visits.

Hey,we visit agia galini on 4sept to 11 sept.Is it possible to walk over the beach to Kokkini Pyrgos,and to the mountains around Agia?
